Check that your car tyres are up to the rigours of summer motoring with a free tread depth check at Walter C Brigg Limited!

Tyres are the sole contact between your car and the road, but many of us do not check the condition of our tyres regularly enough for cuts, scrapes or wear.

Although the legal minimum tread depth is 1.6mm, the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents and RoadSafety recommend that tyres be replaced when the tread depth is reduced to 3mm.

New research by the Motor Industry Research Association shows that worn tyres significantly increase the risk of an accident on wet roads by extending the stopping distance. Tyres with a tread depth of 3mm offer 25 per cent better performance than those worn down to the legal minimum.

This represents an extra eight metres in wet conditions - almost the length of a double-decker bus. Tyre grip when cornering is similarly affected, with an increased risk of aquaplaning on wet roads.

Not only will we check the tread depth of your tyres, we also offer you a great price on a wide range of new tyres, including such well-known brands as Continental, Dunlop, Firestone, Michelin and Pirelli.

Whether you need just one replacement tyre or a full set, you do not have to make an appointment. Simply call us for a competitive quote, and then drive in for immediate attention while you wait.

All sizes, speed ratings and tread patterns can be supplied and fitted to meet the needs of owners of current and older Vauxhall models.

The price you are quoted will include valves, balancing and environmentally friendly disposal of your old tyres.
